Newell stirred up such vitriol today that all 25 (so far) comments posted are worth reproducing. Apparently archaeology enthusiasts really know how to lay the hammer down. Highlights include calling Tim Russert ‘Jim Russert,’ Brad’s one-two punch calling for NBC to fire Newell (twice in two minutes!), a pretty clever stablehand joke that we think we’ve seen before, and more than one ‘The Onion’ reference. I clicked on this story hoping to learn something about what was found. Instead I get a sad attempt at humor obviously written by someone who knows nothing about archaeology or history and who apparently cares even less.
